New Year's Resolutions for You and Your Pet

Updated: Jan 7, 2018

It's that time of year when people look back and resolve to make the next year better. Here are some ideas that will be sure to make you and your pet happier and healthier.

Lose Weight

The majority of my patients are overweight. You can take your dog (and cat!) on walks and knock this one off both of your new years resolutions list. You can also start your diet together.

Enjoy Life to the Fullest

When your dog stops to sniff that bush for the hundredth time, remember to stop and smell the roses with them. And when your cat is fascinated by the birds outside, take the time to appreciate them too. Encourage them and yourselves to enjoy the little things.

Save More

Consider opening up an emergency fund for your pets. Your pet and wallet will appreciate it in the future if there is ever an unexpected big expense.

Get Organized

Have you moved? Gone to multiple veterinarians? Make sure you have a folder with all your pets medical records (vaccines, medications, surgeries, etc...). This will help make sure you're taking the best possible care of your pet(s).

Learn Something New

Old dogs can learn new tricks! So can cats! If you think you've mastered everything you can at home, consider enrolling in a course.

Best Wishes from O'Brien Vet Care for a happy and healthy New Year!
